Abstract
Some people struggle to get rid of old useless possessions because they may need them one day. On the other hand, they have a negative impact on housewives, reducing their ability to manage time and effort. The current study aims to study the negative effects of the behavior of hoarding unused household items and its relationship to managing time and effort as realized by housewives as a result of the tension and pressure caused by the chaos and crowding of the place. Where the data was collected using the research tools represented in (the primary data form for the housewives - a questionnaire on the hoarding of unused household holdings by the housewives and includes (the behavior of the housewives towards hoarding household items divided into (Hoarding holdings in service areas - hoarding holdings in living areas - Negative effect of hoarding) - Housewives' awareness of visual pollution caused by hoarding - (goal setting - planning - organizing - implementation - evaluation), this was done on intentional sample sample of (200) Housewives from various economic and social backgrounds, One of the conditions for selecting the sample was that it be married and have children. In this study, the descriptive analytical approach was used, the data were classified and tabulated, and the appropriate statistical treatments were carried out using the (Spss) program, followed by the relevant tests. To achieve the most important outcomes: Nearly half of the Housewives in the research sample have an average level of hoarding in the service areas by 53.5 percent, and nearly half of the research sample has a high level of hoarding in the living areas by 43.7 percent, and it was discovered that the negative return on hoarding was an average of about 47 percent, and it was clear that there was a statistically significant negative correlation at the significance levels of 0.05, 0.01, 0.001 between the Statistically significant differences were found between the average scores of the research sample in the total behaviour of hoarding belongings according to (the work of the housewives, the age of the housewives, the level of education of the housewives, the monthly income of the family, the extent of support for the idea of hoarding) in favour of female workers, and in favour of those with low education (illiterates), and women of the oldest age (46 years and over), and women of the youngest generation (46 years Family, There were also statistically significant differences in the average scores of the research sample in managing time and effort depending on (place of residence, duration of marriage, husband's educational level, extent of support for the idea of hoarding) in favour of urban women, most extended marriage period (20 years or more), and acceptance of non-supportive female heads of household. Support for hoarding and keeping belongings was discovered to be one of the most influential variables on the behavior of hobehaviortowards accumulating household belongings, followed by education of the housewives, the level of the family's monthly income, and finally, the duration of the marriage. The researcher proposed that the study of hoarding behavior, its negative impact, and how to overcome it be included in the curricula for managing family affairs by strengthening the principles, social values, and skills required to stop collecting and hoarding worthless possessions.
