The Effects of the Differences in the Media Density through Digital Video in an E-learning Environment on Decreasing the Cognitive Load for Education Technology Students

Abstract

This research aims to investigate how media density (low vs. high) through digital video affects the decrease of cognitive load in e-learning for education technology students. The researchers depended on Helmy Al-Feel’s 2015 Cognitive Load Scale. The study sample comprised (120) students from the Department of Education Technology at the Faculty of Specific Education, Fayoum University. Those students were divided into two groups of 60 students each. This research concludes that digital video with higher media density is more effective than that with lower media density.
